Yellowstone Park Spring 2017

Our first Adventure into Yellowstone NP in the Spring of 2017 was for a weekend in early April when we camped at the Mammoth Campground. Up early and heading across the Northern Tier we found a Grizzly feeding on a Bison Carcass at Round Prairie and five Moose a little further east and a Billy Goat on Thunderer Mountain. Near Fisherman’s Bridge P/O we saw a new born Bison Calf that was about two hours old, 1st calf this year!

The weather was cold with snow and an approaching storm had us leave early to avoid icy and snow packed roads towing our camper.

Our Spring Adventures of 2017 found us back in Yellowstone NP, staying in our camper at the Rocky Mountain RV Park in Gardiner, MT for a three week stay from mid-May to just after Memorial Day. Seeing old friends, Bill, John & Randy, Cliff, Doug & Rick M. and others is always a highlight. Everyday is a new adventure with many surprises along the way. Like a little snow! In the RV Park overlooking Gardiner, MT and Bison on the move near Little America and a cute Grizzy Cub!

Traveling back up the Beartooth Highway as far as Clay Butte by Beartooth Lake and the end of the road that has not been opened for the season.

And of course meeting all of the new borne furry and feathered critters that survive in this harsh but beautiful environment. Cinnamon Black Bear and Bison.
